Tarisa Parrish/Angad Kaur  

Tarisa (Angad Kaur) Parrish is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and has been a member of the Kundalini Yoga community since 2003. Tarisa has dedicated her life to helping others and approaches life from the viewpoint of service.  She is a master of integration, balancing both yogic awareness and experiential life.  In addition to owning and operating The YogaSoul Center in Eagan, Minnesota, she is also Director of Change Management for Best Buy Corporation, where she integrates yogic living principles into a complex, real world business setting.   

Tarisa’s fearless nature enables her to meet the challenges of life with grace and enthusiasm.  She is an exceptional role model for women and for anyone who is looking to bring balance, elegance and confidence into their life.  

  

Kelsey Nirmal Lumpkin  

Kelsey Nirmal Lumpkin began her study of the body and wellness with extensive training in dance from the age of 3. Her study of dance culminated in a BFA in Dance from SUNY-Brockport (May 2005). Deciding she wanted to create a life of service Kelsey Nirmal went back to school to become a Massage Therapist. She attended Northwestern Health Science University, a COMTA accredited program (December 2006). She has been nationally certified in massage and bodywork since 2007. She has completed additional training in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year and enjoys nurturing women as they transition to motherhood. Along with her massage practice Kelsey Nirmal teaches both Kundalini and Vinyasa style yoga classes. She has been practicing yoga for over 7 years and has completed a 200-hour Kundalini Research Institute Teacher Training program and is in the process of completed her Level 2 certification. 

 Myra Godfrey / Jaijeet Kaur 

Myra Godfrey is YogaSoul’s Operations & Communications Manager.  Myra is a scientist, writer, teacher and spiritual practitioner.  Myra started her career as a molecular biologist; a strong believer in balance, she also delved into the study of Yoga, Tai Chi and Dance (teaching Argentine Tango for 3 years) and in the spirit of seva, became involved in a handful of non-profit organizations.  Her natural abilities in writing, connectedness and organization led her to many leadership roles where she further cultivated her skills.     In 2006, Myra consciously came into the spiritual path she calls home.  In 2009 she moved from Nevada to Minnesota after a series of life changing events.  In 2010 Myra started a consulting business and a non-profit organization, Gita for the Masses, to further the universal teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita through an integrated balance of the mind and heart.  Myra feels the connectedness of all spiritual traditions and hopes to bridge the current gap in human consciousness by shining the lights of compassion, love and truth consciousness into the world. 

Della McGee/Dev Atma Kaur 

Della was introduced to Hatha yoga in 1995 and loved how her body responded to this gentle exercise. Ten years later she walked into her first Kundalini Yoga class and was hooked. In 2007 she became a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. Along with teaching yoga Della also is an intuitive reader, holistic life coach and hands on healer. Shannon McGarrigle 

 Shannon earned a BA in Dance through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Introduced to Pilates through classes in college she returned back to Minnesota to gain certification through the STOTT Pilates method. She is certified as a level one teacher in Pilates Mat and Reformer. She enjoys how the method can be adapted to all different body types and loves working to encourage body awareness. “Taking a Pilates class is sometime the only real break people may have in their busy day, it is a healthy experience to take just even an hour to think entirely about what your body is doing and checking in to see how your body feels.” Shannon is thrilled to be a part of the YogaSoul Center. 

 Denise Bunch 

Denise began studying yoga 16 years ago to find some peace from a stress related lifestyle. From then on she was completely hooked and continued with studying in the Iyengar method for 5 years and then finding her current teacher who influenced her current Hatha style of teaching as well as deepening her spiritual path in yoga. Denise has been teaching and following yogic philosophy since 2002 and completed her 500 hour E-RYT certification in 2007 with Laura Erdman-Luntz. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates mat instructor with these additional venues mixes her knowledge of yoga with her personal training to help clients pursue a more wellness-based lifestyle. Classes focus on developing self-awareness between the mind/body connections. This is developed through attention to breath and physical alignment based on individual abilities and limitations. Denise’s style comes from her beginnings in Iyengar Yoga and the heart-centered approach she has developed over the past few years. She combines these two disciplines together with her background in physical fitness to provide students with yoga instruction commensurate with their needs while offering them a safe environment where they can fully develop their yoga path. 

Jill Carey

Jill has been practicing various types of yoga since the beginning of the new millennium.
Since August 2007 Jill has been teaching yoga. She successfully completed Level 1 Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste, received her Registered Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT) at the 200 hour level with TeriLeigh Schmidt, completed an intensive 35 hour Yoga Anatomy, Yin Yoga: Practice & Theory Teacher Training with Paul Grilley and has completed a Taoist (Yin & Yang) Teacher Training program with founder of Yin Yoga, Paulie Zink.  Jill is the founder and owner of NOW Yoga, LLC, teaches private classes in her studio as well as public classes at various locations.  It is her desire to support her students to go beyond their potential with commitment, dedication and fun. Keith Edward Root 

Keith Root began his Tai Chi journey in 1993. He briefly studied Wu Style before finding his way home with Yang family Tai Chi Chuan. He started with Chen Man Cheng’s short form before learning Doc Fai Wong’s short and intermediate forms, and two weapon forms; the sword and fan. Presently, Keith is continuing his study of Yang style Tai Chi Chuan and Yi-Quan with Fong Ha. Keith is certified in the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes programs and is very active with the local Arthritis Foundation chapter. Keith was recently appointed as Senior Trainer by the Tai Chi for Arthritis program in 2007.  

Vincent Butler 

Vincent began his journey with yoga over six years ago as a way to help recover from a sports related injury. Through regular practice he has found yoga to be an incredible tool for physical recovery, self-illumination and discovery. Vincent completed his 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in June 2008 under RYT Karen Soroko, and has been teaching regularly since March 2008. He hopes to make a professional career out of teaching and training others how to make a regular yoga practice a part of their lives.  

Elizabeth Abbene 

 Elizabeth Abbene was born in the section of New York City commonly known as “Chinatown” and grew up with an interest, respect and reverence for the people and culture of East Asia. Since moving from New York in 1979, she has studied a variety of traditional Eastern Arts as well as holistic health and nutrition. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Natural Health with a Master’s Degree in Holistic Nutrition. She also continues her study of movement and intuitive embodiment through Dancemeditation. As a health educator she helps support the innate healing response of the body through nutritional strategies, relaxation and visualization, and movement. As an Instructor, she uses Tai Chi as exercise, toning the outer and inner body by combining gentle movement with relaxed, natural breathing. Dancemeditation is also used as a meditative practice encouraging moving with harmony, gracefulness, and purpose to assist in the attainment of inner balance. The rhythmic movements of both disciplines help develop flexibility, strength, coordination, a quiet mind and an awake heart. 

Nicole DePalma 

Nicole DePalma has taught dance and fitness classes for practically as long as she can remember.  She holds a BA degree in Dance, a BS degree in Exercise Science, and an MS degree in Kinesiology.  She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Specialist (HFS), the National Exercise Trainers’ Association (NETA) as a Personal Trainer (CPT), and by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Group Fitness Instructor (GFI).  Nicole also holds various other certifications in fitness specialties such as Pilates Mat and Equipment based training. 

Rachael Harpreet Newman  

Rachael or Harpreet (her spiritual name) graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a BA in Biology and a Psychology minor. Her primary areas of focus were Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology & Botany. She became a Certified Massage Therapist at the Minneapolis School of Massage & Bodyworks. Rachael has been in private practice as a massage and wellness professional since 1998 educating and supporting her clients with a mixed-modality approach. Over the years she has expanded her knowledge with coursework in Myofascial Release, Healing Touch, Essential Oil Techniques, Nutrition, Ear Candling, Neurological Assessment and more. Yoga became an integral part of her life in 1999 and she is currently in the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program.
