Pilates Classes

 

Pilates at the Yoga Soul Center  

At the Yoga Soul Center we offer several options for Pilates students: Mat classes, Beginner Mat series, Reformer classes, Semi Private Sessions, Chair & Cadillac Duets, or Private Pilates Sessions, based on the STOTT Pilates Method.   

~Mat Class~ 

60 minute class where we focus on strengthening the body from within, in class we work with a variety of props such as foam rollers, weighted balls and flex bands.  We use these props to encourage modifications to an exercise or provide increased resistance! Class ranges from beginner to intermediate level.   

~Beginner Mat Series~ 

This class runs for either 4 or 6 weeks and is a perfect way to learn more about your own body as well as the exercises.  We begin by learning the 5 basic principles behind the STOTT Pilates method and we continue going through the essential exercises.  The class works to prepare you for a regular Mat class by teaching you any modifications you may want to take to complete an exercise.  This class is also great for anyone who enjoys working at a slower pace.   

~Reformer Class~ 

60 minute class on the STOTT pilates Reformer, this machine gives you a full body workout from head to toe!  We use top of the line STOTT machines to give you the best experience possible.  So what is the difference between a mat class and a reformer class?  Reformers use spring based resistance to challenge and tone the arms and legs.  Our trainers have gone through STOTT courses to give you a full range of exercises that can also be modified to fit your specific workout needs.  *All students are required to have prior Reformer experience or have completed at least 3 private 60 minute sessions with a trainer  

~Private Pilates~ 

30 or 60 minute sessions where you are the center of attention!  Do you have a specific exercise goal or would you like to work on a certain machine then privates are the perfect answer for you.  The new 30 minute time slot can be perfect for either a busy summer schedule or for someone just starting back in to an exercise program.  Scheduling is based around what works for you and the trainer.   

~Semi-Private and Chair/ Cadillac Duets~ 

60 minute sessions working with a workout buddy on either Reformers or the Chair/ Cadillac machines.  These sessions will be run much like a private in that you get a choice in when you come in for class.
