Kundalini Yoga & Meditation
Kundalini Yoga uses ancient yogic techniques to unify body, mind and spirit. Classes include movement, postures, strength training, mudras (hand positions), mantras (chant), & meditation. Kundalini was first introduced to the western world in 1969 by Yoga master Yogi Bhajan. It is an ancient and powerful form of yoga, considered to be the mother of all other forms of yoga. Although ancient it is a very appropriate for the times in which we are living in and ideal for the active person who needs to lower their stress level, achieve inner peace, calmness, and improve their health and well-being. Students come to class for many benefits including increased flexibility, heightened metabolism, healthy weight maintenance, spiritual awareness, relief from depression or insomnia, and overall increased vitality.
Kundalini Yoga is referred to as the yoga of awareness. It works to integrate the glandular system and the nervous system. The benefit is a balance between the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. The breath, combined with posture and mantra, focus the mind and can help to eliminate harmful negative thought patterns. It is truly a scientific technology that can affect the consciousness.
Hatha yoga classes are designed to cultivate a deeper awareness of poses (asanas), attention to alignment and understanding of yogic breathing (pranayama). Many other styles of yoga, including kundalini yoga and yin yoga, have it roots in Hatha yoga. Hatha comes from the Sanskrit words “Ha” meaning “sun” and “Tha” meaning “moon.” Hatha yoga is a path to unite these currents of energy to bring harmony and balance into the body.
This is a hatha yoga class for our students who are new to yoga, or those who are looking for something slower pace.
This yoga class is designed specifically for mamas-to-be. Class focuses on helping these goddesses prepare themselves physically, mentally and spiritually for labor and birth! It is a time to nurture yourself and connect more deeply with your growing baby. It’s a safe place to breathe, stretch, grow, cry, and be however you are in the present moment, without judgment. Appropriate for women in all stages of pregnancy.
Yin yoga is considered by some to be the oldest form of Hatha yoga. Yin is distinctive from other forms of yoga, however, because it is designed to stretch the connective tissues, ligaments, tendons and joints in the body and not the muscles. Poses are done primarily in a seated or lying down position and are targeted towards the lower back, hips, pelvis and legs. Each posture is typically held from 2-5 min. The intention of yin yoga is to keep energy flowing smoothly through the body by lengthening and strengthening the tissues that are often overlooked. Yin is considered an ideal form of conditioning to aide one in the process of prolonged meditation.
Yoga for Mindfulness
This all level class will integrate mindfulness with a mix of Hatha and Yin postures. The class will begin with mindful meditation, extend that mindfulness into our postures, and then end with a mindful meditation to allow us to continue on into the world by being mindful and present in Life. In the words of the Great Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh: “every moment is a gift of Life.”

Healing Gong Meditation — Donation Class
Warm up with yoga and breath work – then be prepared to experience the deeply healing and relaxing vibrations of the gong. The vibration of the Gong creates deep relaxation, releasing us from the torrent of thoughts our mind releases, and it stimulates the glandular system to a higher level of functioning. The Gong impacts the body and its meridians. It releases blocks, reduces tension, stimulates circulation, balance the chakras and strengthens the Aura. The Gong changes the feelings that are blocked by cutting the thoughts that sustain and recreate the feelings. It is the only instrument the mind has no defense against. The sound waves bring the subconscious mind into a balanced and meditative state, an effortless meditation and relaxation facilitating the movement of prana throughout the body and psyche.
